General Tournament
Rules
- A skiers list will be posted on the website subject
to change. Any skier with an
asterisk next to their name on the skiers list must come prior to the
tournament to prove their scores.
- The final running order will be posted 15 days prior
to the tournament.
- All rules will be posted on the website and it is the
skier’s responsibility to check the website for the rules and any changes.
- There will be a skiers meeting 30 minutes prior to
the start of the tournament on the first day to answer questions and
clarify any of the rules for the Head-to-Head events.
Professional Skiers
- The rules below apply to both Open Men and Open Women
skiers.
- The Professionals have to ski a minimum of two rounds
to compute an average score (best two rounds) in order to advance to the
Head-to-Head event.
- The Head-to-Head event will be on Sunday.
- Open Men skiers will start at 32 feet off for the
tournament rounds.
- Open Women skiers will start at 28 off for the
tournament rounds.
- The two best scores of three rounds will be averaged and the
calculated average score will be ranked highest to lowest.
- The top 8 averaged score will advance to the
Head-to-Head competition.
- In the event of a tie to advance into the
Head-to-Head event, the highest score of the first two rounds is used to
break the tie. In the event that score is also tied, the score from the
third round will be used to determine the tie breaker.
- The Head-to-Head event will put Skier 1 against Skier
8, Skier 2 against Skier 7 etc.
- Open Men Skiers will start the head-to-head at 32 off
and subsequent rounds at 35 off.
- Open Women Skiers will start the head-to-head at 28
off and subsequent rounds at 32 off.
- The time in the water will be 50 seconds on the 1st
boat and 35 seconds on the 2nd boat. The time in the water will 35 seconds for
each skier thereafter.
- If both skiers duplicate a line length in a pass, and
both skiers agree, they can drop a pass.
- The scoring criterion for the Head-to-Head is
straight buoy count and line length only.
- There will be no tiebreakers to advance in the Head-to-Head
event. If the second skier of a
bracketed pairing fails to beat the first skier, the first skier
wins.
Amateur Skiers
- All Amateur Skiers must have completed 5 tournaments by
September 7, 2007 to compete in the Head-to-Head event.
- No new scores
will be considered after September 7th.
- There
will be two Head-to-Head events for the Amateur Skiers.
- A Semi-Final
Head-to-Head Event will be held Saturday afternoon before the end of the
day, weather permitting.
- All
skiers have to ski a minimum of two rounds to compute an average score
(best two rounds) in order to advance to the semi-final Head-to-Head
event.
First Head-to-Head Advancement
Criteria
- The top score of any three
rounds for all skiers will be ranked from highest score to lowest score. The top
six scores will advance to the Final Head-to-Head competition.

- We
will average the highest two scores of the three rounds for all remaining
skiers.

- The

- The
top eight between the two round averages and the AWSA National Ranking Score
will advance to the Semi-Final Head-to-Head event on Saturday
afternoon.
- In the event of a tie to advance into the semi-final
Head-to-Head event, the highest score of the first two rounds is used to
break the tie. In the event that
score is also tied, the score from the third round will be used to
determine the tie breaker.
- The starting rope length for the semi-final
head-to-head will be determined from the skiers
three tournament rounds.
Semi-Final Scoring
Criteria
- Each skier will compete against their Two Round Tournament
Average in the Semi-Final Head-to-Head event.
- Each skier has to achieve a higher difference versus
their Two Round Average compared to their competitor to advance to the
next bracket.
- There will be no ties. If second skier does not beat first
skier by a number greater than the first skier difference, the first skier
advances.
- The Head-to-Head competition will put Skier 1 against
Skier 8, Skier 2 against Skier 7 etc.
- The time in the water will be 50 seconds on the 1st
boat and 35 seconds on the 2nd boat. The time in the water will 35 seconds
for each skier thereafter.
- If both skiers

will advance to the final Head-to-Head event on Sunday.
Amateur Skiers
Final Head-to-Head Event
- The scoring criterion for the Head-to-Head is
straight buoy and line length only.
All skiers in
the Final head-to-head event must start at 28 off.
Junior Skiers
- All Junior Skiers must have completed 5 tournaments
by September 7, 2007 to compete for the prizes.
- No new scores
will be considered after September 7th.
- Junior Skiers will compete in a Junior Head-to-Head
final event on Saturday or Sunday.
- The two best scores of three rounds will be averaged
and the average scores will be ranked highest to lowest.
- We will calculate
the difference between the two round average (best of two rounds
averaged) and the AWSA National Ranking Score. The difference will be sorted highest to
lowest.
- In the event of a tie to advance into the
Head-to-Head event, the highest score of the first two rounds is used to
break the tie. In the event that score is also tied, the score from the
third round will be used to determine the tie breaker.
- The top four Junior Skiers will advance to the
Head-to-Head event.
- The scoring criterion for the Head-to-Head is
straight buoy and line length only.
- Junior Skiers will be eligible for merchandise prizes
only.
